‘Town Planning received for construction of 1.744 million Cubic Feet Cold Storage facility in Kochi’

‘Westman’ which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ‘WEST IRELAND INVESTMENTS’ has received full permission to start construction of a 1.744 million Cubic Feet cold storage facility in Cochin (Kochi), India.

This state of the art facility is designed for multi-product storage racks and pallets with flexible temperature controls throughout. The storage Capacity of 6500 Pallets / 6500 MT with a Power supply of Total Connected Load (TCL) of 1250 KVA and a DG Backup of 2 × 625 KVA.

The facility has a dedicated Frozen Processing Area, individual packing rooms and a Blast Freezer with capacity of 4 MT per day. The centralized refrigeration rack system has a flexible temperature range from +20°C to -25°C and allows different chambers to maintain varied temperature as per customers requirements.

The ⁠racking system (double deep racking design) is optimized for higher storage density and efficient space utilization. The Docking Infrastructure (5 X dock stations facilitating 40 Foot Trucks) is equipped with Dock Levelers and Scissor Lifts, suitable for handling both small and large vehicles.

Office space is provided for approx 40 personnel to enable customers to have their own onsite staff to help them manage inventory and operations.

Kochi is a strategic hub for cold storage in South India, serving large seafood exporters, spice and fruit producers, pharmaceuticals, and the hospitality sector. Its proximity to Cochin Port, the International Container Transshipment Terminal at Vallarpadam, and Cochin International Airport offers efficient import-export links for perishable goods.
